Ascend the stairs above La Zingara and you will find Vesta Rooftop Kitchen, a rooftop oasis right in the heart of downtown Bethel.  In the summertime, the glass roof is retractable and has a great open air feel. In cooler weather they have heaters.  Once inside you will find flavorful, quality cocktails and draft beers. In the summer there is a pizza and brew special for $17 on Wednesday nights, and burger and a brew for $18 on Thursdays. The menu has frequently-changing specials.

For starters there are delicious sharable choices such as poutine, mussels, roasted veggies, and charcuterie: truly something for everyone, including gluten-free and vegetarian options.

The main menu offers four different salads which can have wood-roasted chicken or salmon and shrimp added to them. With a brick oven, pizza is a big attraction here.  They offer many ways to enjoy different topping combinations and allow you to choose between  flour, buckwheat, crepe, panini and pizzette crusts.  They also have gluten-free options.  My personal favorite was the shrimp with Fontina, spinach, fresh basil and roasted garlic.  There are other options such as pork, chicken, steak and the “meathead.”

There are also some yummy burger combination options including a breakfast and a vegan burger for something a little different. This is a great place for a date night or casual dinner with the kids.

Vesta is open seasonally from March to January, (January, February and part of March, weather dependent).
